Set for an early summer release by AT&T, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone is the thinnest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone on the market, and it's slim body packs a high-resolution display (480x360), a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and image stabilization, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, built-in GPS, and a microSD/SDHC memory card slot that supports up to 16GB cards.
Customers who select an unlimited data plan with the BlackBerry Curve 8900 will get free AT&T Wi-Fi access at around 20,000 hotspots in the U.S., while on-board GPS supporting location-based apps and services lets customers use AT&T Navigator, and AT&T Navigator Global Edition to access maps and directions with audible turn-by-turn directions in 21 countries in five languages.
You would hope that this device supports speedy 3G HSDPA connectivity, but the AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 is quad-band EDGE (850/900/1700/ 1800Mhz) phone. It is ready for world travel though, so customers can access data in over 170 countries and make calls in more than 200. The phone's removable battery provides 5.5 hours of talk time and about 15 days of standby time.
