Sustainable G2-Greencycle

Featured in the 20 for the 2011 International Design Competition Bicycle Greencycle 2 offers more than just transportation from point A to point B, which provides an environmentally sustainable solution globally important and beneficial to poor countries. A series of G2 were created in the design process with basic pieces from renewable resources like bamboo, which is widely available in many third world countries.

Human-centered research methods were used to gain information and feedback from recipients in order to shape and develop a planning process that the result would be not only acceptable, but also a culturally relevant way, to improve the relationship with the user it.

1. A wheel for more stability – will go to two-wheeled tricycles designed the triangular base that is stable and strong for the loads.

The second ability to convert back to a style of two-wheel configuration when the field requires hard bargaining – a narrow path through a field of PADI or poor road conditions, commonly found in the Third World.

3. Enlarged base of the rear wheel to provide a stable surface for cargo storage / transport of conventional bikes, which do not.

4. Reservation of the basic structure remains the customization to the user’s needs and desires, such as department or Hawker goods mover.

5. Design apart in the back was an opportunity for additional attachment point for attachment.

6. Hitch, who has a dual purpose as a wheelbarrow load of goods and a trailer to transport goods.

A seventh form of S-frame instead of a diamond-shaped frame to release and create as much space for loading.

8. A strong core acts as an anchor for other attachments, such as cars.

9. A stronger wheel design.

10. Dual front spokes to mimic old-style bicycle frame, which is confirmed by the steel forks.

11. A detachable passenger seat to allow maximum cargo space can also be used as an attachment point or to hang a basket.

12. The main frame components made from environmentally friendly composite bamboo based materials which can be molded to produce the desired form.
